Marian Teitz, 84, died on September 12, 2017, in Hendersonville, North Carolina, after a period of declining health. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Marian was born and raised in Lakewood, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Saul and Jean Solleridge. She earned a degree in music education at Trenton State College and then worked as an elementary school music teacher. She was married in 1962 to Walter Teitz. In 1972, she and Walter moved from the Upper West Side of New York City to Old Greenwich, Connecticut, where they raised their three children. Marian was a member of Chavurat Deevray Torah and volunteered with the Dundee School PTA and other local organizations. She also worked for Cuisinart, Union Pen and Pencil, and MCI. In 2009 she moved to Asheville, North Carolina.

Marian was upbeat and had a sly wit. She was a bridge player, a classical pianist, and an avid crossword puzzler. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

She is survived by her son Warren Teitz, his wife Jane, and their children Maya, Jonah, and Owen of Woodland Hills, California; daughter Jean Dumais, her husband Robert, and their daughter Zoe of Greenland, New Hampshire; and daughter Susan Zuckerman, her husband Michael, and their son Daniel of Asheville, North Carolina. Marian is also survived by her niece Linda Robbins of Natick, Massachusetts, and her grand-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 1987.

Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street in Stamford, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society http://www.lls.org/ or Haddasah http://www.hadassah.org/
